Poetry

It falls so softly—
bright like snow—
and settles in around the ears.

Some flitters over vanished tears,
alighting on the surface
of a soul
that is not mine.

Hush…
move not…
or, like a butterfly,
it will away
on wilting leaves of air…
and we may never hear
or feel
its whisper here
again!
